CIR M02/12: UPDATE ON DIALOGUE WITH MBJB/MDJBT ON OIL FILTER IMPOSED ON RESTAURANTS
We refer to our circular M06/11 on the dialogue with MBJB/MDJBT on the requirement of all food operators to install grease trap or ¨penapis sisa makanan〃 (here after refer as the ˉequipmentˇ) on their premise by year end in a bid to maintain a clean and healthy living environment.
Following our dialogue meeting with the Yang Dipertua, Tuan Haji Mohd Fuji on Nov 30, 2006 (Thursday) at Majlis Daerah Johor Bahru Tengah (MDJBT), Skudai, it was confirmed by Tuan Haji that:
1. The implementation has been extended by 3 months i.e. until March 31, 2007. Failing which, the business license will not be renewed.
2.MDJBT had so far approved Six (6) companies to supply the above equipment to food operators.
3.MDJBT did not force or specifies to the food operators to buy from a specific supplier among the six appointed suppliers. The food operators can buy the equipment from any of the approved suppliers.
4.Any equipment supplier who is able to meet the specification required by MDJBT may apply to become the 'Approved Supplier'. The details is available from En Johori (019-750 2664), Ground Floor, Bahagian Kesihatan & Perlesenan. MDJBT will take one (1) working day to process the application.
