Everyone recognize the need for environmental protection. Industrialization has contributed to the demise of our air, water and soil quality. As a result, environmental regulations have been developed to protect the earth as well as providing a greenery living environment to our next generations.

In addition, market pressure, especially the big organizations (MNC) are calling for a better understanding of products and services in many aspects. Failing to obtain the EMS certification might potentially cause SMI companies stay out of business, because the ISO 14000 management system registration may become the primary requirement for doing business in many regions or industries, particularly if they wanted to deal with the multi national companies (MNC). However, SMI are facing great challenge in implementing the ISO 14000 due to lack of knowledge in this regard.
