KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Bhd's pre-tax profit for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2014 rose by 4.1 per cent to RM186.7 million due to lower management expenses.
"It rose from RM179.3 million in the same period in 2013. However, our revenue dropped to RM1.65 billion from RM1.71 billion previously," Tafakul said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia Tuesday.
It said for the fourth quarter, its pre-tax profit decreased to RM44.23 million from RM53.74 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
"Revenue rose to RM401.49 million from RM378.50 million previously," it said.
Takaful said for the current financial year, it would continue its value proposition of rewarding customers with 15 per cent cash back and establish a strong foothold in the local insurance and takaful industry.
The group's family takaful business generated gross earned contributions of RM958.1 million last year.
