SMEs poised to grow in Medini Iskandar

NUSAJAYA: Small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) companies in Iskandar Malaysia are poised to grow with Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd's (MIM) expansion of its SME base hub in the region.

MIM strategic marketing senior vice-president Muaazam Mahmud said aside from focusing on multi-national companies' development, Medini also focused on the development of SME's business operation and its plan for their central business districts to enable more service base companies to set their business platform here.

"MIM's masterplan development includes three clusters of project developments namely Medini Lifestyle and Living, Medini Central and Medini Business District. These clusters of development encompasses all sectors from retailing activities to leisure to residential townships," he said this at the Horizon Hill club house during a briefing of the Medini township's current development here today.

Muaazam said to spur SME's development in the region, the Medini Mall, which had its Phase 1 development completed with the street retail outlets of the mall since opening its doors in September 2012, had attracted many service base chain outlets to start branching out there.

He also added that Medini's future development for the next three years will include the development of office buildings at the Medini Business District which was divided into five areas namely Medini 6, Medini 7, Medini 8, Medini 9 and Medini 10.
