TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd (TM) recently announced the third edition of SME BizFest 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.

The series of one-day events to be held in several cities over the coming months is targeted mainly at micro and small businesses, including those that are operating from home.

SME BizFest 2014, which kicks off in Petaling Jaya on April 24, will feature a business conference, knowledge sharing, an exhibition as well as networking sessions.

The events will also be held in Johor Baru, Penang and Kuching.

TM says the event will provide a platform for SMEs to acquire business tips shared by expert speakers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience the latest ICT solutions exhibited by the participating partners during the event.

There will be four essential business topics covered in the business conference, which are Motivational, ICT and Your Business, Financial Aid and E-commerce Success Stories.

TM SME executive vice-president Azizi A Hadi said, “We are indeed very happy to once again organise this annual event, specifically tailored to the business requirements of Malaysian SMEs.

“Based on the encouraging feedback and responses received from the previous editions, this year, we are bringing new ideas and exciting activities to four locations, as compared to only three locations last year.

“In line with this year’s theme of ‘Innovate To Dominate’, our focus is to continue accelerating ICT adoption among SMEs.”

The telco is looking to help SMEs with more than just connectivity services and aims to deliver the best ICT and online solutions that are convenient for more effective and impactful business operations, in order to fulfil TM’s role of driving the economic growth of SMEs and as the leading broadband provider in Malaysia.

“I am confident with the great support received from SME Corp and MDEC as our event endorsers, Malaysia SME and HyppTV as our media partners and other participating partners like VADS, Microsoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Orient Sun Motors Sdn Bhd, Milan Utama Sdn Bhd, Interbase Resources Sdn Bhd, and Eminent Display Sdn Bhd, TM SME BizFest 2014 can become the best platform for SMEs to increase their knowledge and acquire relevant information and solutions for their ICT needs. Thus, helping them to grow and expand their business in a cost effective manner.

“I am also proud to have SMI Association of Malaysia on board with us this year, which is a sign that this event has started gaining support from industry associations,” Azizi said.

TM has also elaborated on a line up of exciting programmes and activities for the event such as contests, lucky draws, business consultations and ICT tutorials specially tailored for the SMEs interest in the areas of ICT, finance, human resources and accounting, marketing and more.

This year’s event is expected to draw more than 5,000 participants nationwide.
